MUSTAHQEEN

Those who are eligible to receive Zakat are mentioned in the Holy Qur’an.

 

 

Alms are for the poor And the needy, and those Employed to administer the (funds); For those whose hearts Have been (recently) reconciled (To Truth); for those in bondage And in debt; in the cause Of Allah; and for the wayfarer: (This is it) ordained by Allah. And Allah is full of knowledge And wisdom. (Al-Quran)

 

According to this Verse of Holy Quran, utilization of Zakat has been ordained to benefit only the following eight classes of people. (Al-Quran Surah Altoba 60)

FUKARA, MASAKEEN, AMALEEN, MOULIF- TA-AL-QALOOB, FI-AL-RIKKAB, GHARMEEN,

FI-SABEEL-ALLAH and IBN-AL-SABEEL.
